The City of Walnut Creek, in conjunction with the Walnut Creek Downtown Library, is introducing a new program: Exhibitions in the Library Community Art Gallery. This new program is part of the Arts, Recreation and Community Services Department, which will administer it under the direction of the Walnut Creek Arts Commission. As a proponent of creative expression and exploration, and to support appreciation of the visual arts, the Walnut Creek Library invites artists living or working in Contra Costa County to submit proposals for exhibitions in the Library Community Art Gallery. Individuals and non-commercial groups based in Contra Costa County. What is the cost? There is a non-refundable fee to submit an application for review: $150/organization or group of 4+, $100/2-3 individuals, and $50/individuals. How do I apply? Submit a completed application form, including images sized to specifications. See Guidelines & Policy for complete details. Application will be reviewed by a Walnut Creek Arts Commission subcommittee and selections will be announced at a bimonthly Arts Commission meeting. When are applications due? Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis and will be reviewed several times per year, based on the volume of applicants. Deadlines will be posted on this website when available.
