Drop Off Information

June 16 and 17, 2008, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Artwork must be dropped off in person, by the artist or designated representative.
No slides, photographs, or other documentation will be accepted.

Please read the Entry Form carefully and fill out all fields clearly before you arrive.

DO NOT leave your vehicle unattended in the loading zone on Civic Dr. Cars will be ticketed.
Limited staff will be available to help unload large artworks prior to parking your vehicle.
We recommend that you bring a friend for assistance if you are unable to move your artwork alone.

Parking is available in the Locust St. Parking Garage on Monday for $0.50/hour.
Bedford Gallery cannot validate parking. The garage will be closed on Tuesday.
Limited reserved street parking will be available at designated spots around the Lesher Center for the Arts.
Please pick up a parking placard from staff on the LCA Plaza to use these designated spots.

Local Voice 2008

In an age when so many of us don’t know our neighbors, we may be surprised to learn the person next door, down the street, or in the next cubicle over is, in fact an artist. Local Voice: Defining Community Through Art highlights a small cross section of artists who live and work among us here in Contra Costa County. This juried exhibition is designed to open a dialogue between our local visual artists and our community, exploring what kind of art is being made in this area, by whom and why.

This juried exhibition offers an overview of the best and most compelling art, in all media and genres, being created by artists living in Contra Costa County. This exhibition is a mirror to provoke dialogue about a place both urban and rural, with great diversity, and an abundance of history and natural beauty.

Exhibition Dates: June 29 – August 31, 2008

Eligibility: Open to artists 18 and older who live or work in Contra Costa County.

Juror: Phil Linhares, Chief Curator, Oakland Museum of California

Entry Requirements:
• Artists may submit up to 2 works of art.
• All entries must be delivered in person on June 16 or 17. Slides or other   
  documentation will not be accepted.
• Entries must not be larger than 72 inches in any dimension, and not over 75 lbs.

Media: The following media will be accepted: painting, sculpture, drawing, photography, printmaking, collage, textiles, video, and digital media.

Entry Fee: A non-refundable fee of $35 is required for entry. This fee covers up to 2 entries. Please make checks payable to City of Walnut Creek.
