Public Art Walking Tours

The Bedford offers one hour docent-led walking tours of Walnut Creek's downtown public art collection every third Saturday, April through November.

Our Docents are trained by public art specialists and offer information and insight appropriate for all ages.

Public Art Walking Tours are now Pay What You Can! While reservations are not required, we suggest reserving your ticket ahead of time to guarantee availability. To buy, click on your desired tour date below. Alternately, you may purchase your tickets the morning of the tour at the Lesher Center Ticket Office, which opens one hour prior to the tour start time. If you would like to attend with a group of 6 or more, please email galleryinfo@bedfordgallery.org or call 925-295-1417 so that we may accommodate your group. 

Start Location

Meet at the Lesher Center for the Arts Plaza (1601 Civic Drive, Walnut Creek, CA). Wear comfortable shoes and sunscreen.

Time

Tours start at 10 a.m. and are approximately 1 hour.

#2 May 16, Sept. 19 Plaza Escuela & shopping areas (Locust, Plaza Escuela, and California Blvd.)
#3 June 20*, Oct. 17 Around the Business parks near the Walnut Creek BART station, California Blvd and North Main St (involves stairs).
#4 July 18, Nov. 21 Downtown Main St. and Library.

This walking tour takes you through the business parks near the Walnut Creek BART station, including California Blvd and North Main Street. This route features striking artworks in a dynamic urban setting. Please note that this tour involves stairs.
