This exhibition celebrates and highlights the profound impact Oakland-based Magnolia Editions has had on printmaking and tapestry production for over four decades. The studio’s longstanding commitment to artistic collaboration, technical excellence, and boundary-pushing printmaking has shaped contemporary practice in meaningful ways and provided a sanctuary for artistic creativity that expands beyond the Bay Area to international institutions. 

The unique combination of traditional craftsmanship and cutting-edge technology has solidified Magnolia’s reputation as a worldclass studio and enabled artists to realize ambitious projects. The studio’s role in producing print multiples, unique works on paper, editioned textiles, and largescale commissions has made Magnolia Editions a vital creative engine for artists working across disciplines. This exhibition examines not only the artwork but also the collaborative processes, experimental methodologies, and deep artist–studio relationships that define Magnolia’s practice.
