Pet Project
The Bedford’s annual juried exhibition returns with Pet Project, a whimsical ode to the animal companions who capture our hearts with their larger-than-life personalities. In an array of media, Pet Project invites us into a playful menagerie where these grounding forces become muses and mischief-makers, reminding us how blissfully they slither, flutter, scamper, and pounce their way into our lives.
Exhibition dates: July 10 – September 12, 2027
Opening Party: Saturday, July 10, 2027 from 5 – 7 pm, Donor Preview from 4 – 5 pm
Library Community Art Gallery
The City of Walnut Creek, in conjunction with the Walnut Creek Downtown Library, presents annual exhibitions in the Library Community Art Gallery. The gallery was created to encourage and develop artistic expression and to foster greater appreciation for art in our community. This program is part of the Arts + Recreation Department, administered by the Bedford under the direction of the Walnut Creek Arts Commission.

Library Hours
- Monday–Tuesday: 10 AM – 8 PM
- Wednesday–Thursday: 10 AM – 6 PM
- Friday–Saturday: 9 AM – 5 PM
- Sunday: Closed

The 2026-2027 season begins July 24, 2026, and the deadline for proposals is June 3, 2026. The schedule will be announced by June 26, 2026.

Submitting Work or Proposals
Although the Bedford's exhibitions are planned well in advance, our curator will review work and proposals throughout the year.
Due to a high number of submissions, a response may take up to 6 months.
Submissions must include —
- Curriculum vitae (CV).
- Artist's statement.
- 20 images or a video/audio file (15 minutes or less).
- Articles and/or reviews of work
Send digital images via DropBox or another file sharing site. Mailed submissions will not be accepted or returned.
